Peer Groups
PRSA-WF Peer Groups
In 2006 we launched our Peer Group program -- which has become one of our most popular -- to give members an informal and inexpensive way to meet and share needs, wants, ideas and resources. There are three Groups:
- Corporate Peer Group: for corporate communicators.
- Agency/Solo Peer Group: for principals or staff in a PR firm, or sole practitioners, consultants, freelancers.
- Non-Profit and Government Professionals: for those working in not-for-profits, including hospitals, charities, educational institutions, government agencies, trade associations and more.
The cost is your lunch, plus $5 for Chapter administration (and a meal chip-in if your Group invites a guest expert.)
Non PRSA-WF members are allowed to attend two sessions before becoming a member or dropping out.
Why Join?
Your peers understand your challenges and issues; they're like-minded, practical colleagues who can help you leverage your strengths and experience.
The group creates its own agenda and meetings may be self-directed or with a guest expert. For example, the Agency/Solo Group may explore retaining and growing clients; winning new business; time management; market positioning; and more.
Benefits
- You'll enjoy the support of a network of successful people, to help move your career or business forward.
- You'll bounce ideas around and get feedback before taking action -- saving time, energy and money.
- You'll increase your chances of reaching your own goals.
- You'll benefit from better decision-making and problem solving.
- You'll find solutions from those who want you to succeed. Your peers will be a brain trust of people who have "been there and done that."
"The PRSA- WF Corporate PR Peer Group functions were very helpful because best practices and tips were shared. Meeting with the group reminded me that others go through the same day-to-day challenges I experience at my corporate PR job and this helps my overall perspective as a corporate PR practitioner. It’s a terrific networking opportunity with my corporate peers, as no agency personnel or vendors are invited.”
