            Discuss these and more strategic and business essentials at the Public Relations Society of America-Westchester/Fairfield Chapter's Peer Group Meeting for Solo Practitioners and Small Firm Owners, Friday, March 23, 2018, at Hyatt Regency Greenwich, Winfield's Café, Table 71, Noon to 1:45. 

            Our Guest-Advisor Laura McCormick, principal of McCormick PR --,, has world-class corporate and agency experience representing major brands from industries that span business and technology services, hospitality, retail and consumer products.

            Prior to starting her consultancy in 2010, McCormick was VP of Strategic Communications at Citrix Systems’ Online Division in Santa Barbara, Calif., a startup Citrix acquired in 2004. She oversaw global communications and launched several of the company’s services including and

            Prior to Citrix, she served as Director of Public Relations for Calif.-based Kinko’s Inc., (now FedEx Office), a large business services retailer with 900 stores in nine countries.

            Her agency career included NYC-based DeVries Public Relations, where she was a Sr. Vice President with responsibility for the Lifestyle Division, overseeing accounts including Perrier-Jouet Champagne, Brooks Brothers, Godiva, Denmark Tourism and All Nippon Airways.

            She got her start in the agency business at Burson-Marsteller, in the Toronto and NYC offices managing accounts, including Levi Strauss, General Electric and General Foods. She has a BA from Marymount Manhattan College.

             Peer Group attendees benefit as they network, discuss business-building issues, create alliances, share services, find opportunities and solve problems. Around a table for 12, they discuss how to market services, sell more effectively, satisfy clients, attract strategic relationships, manage interns and staffers, and other issues.
