ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:

Elizabeth Bracken-Thompson, Thompson & Bender. Liz oversees advertising, integrated marketing, special events, public relations and strategic planning initiatives for PR/ad agency Thompson & Bender, founded in 1987 and a Westchester business leader. She started with Gannett Suburban Newspapers and rose to VP marketing for the entire 10 newspaper group, and at the agency she has managed a number of award-winning PR and marketing programs for public and private sector clients. Thompson & Bender has been named among the Westchester Power 100 by City & State, and Liz has been named one of Westchester’s “Power Dozen” by 914 INC. She is active in community and professional organizations and serves on many boards, including the Business Council of Westchester, the Hudson River Museum and the Westchester Parks Foundation. She is a former president of PRSA Westchester/Fairfield and the Advertising Club of Westchester.

Stacey Cohen, Co-Communications. Stacey is founder, president and CEO of Co-Communications, a full-service marketing and communications agency founded in 1991, with offices in Manhattan, Westchester, and Connecticut and serving real estate, education, healthcare, non-profit, professional services and hospitality sectors. She began at Marsteller and held senior positions in public relations and marketing at CBS/FOX Video, then the world’s largest home video company.  Co-Communications has received numerous Advertising Club of Westchester’s “Best of Show” awards, a Forbes Enterprise Award, and is in the Westchester County Business Hall of Fame. Stacey has been named PRSA-Greater CT Practitioner of the Year and is a Smart CEO Brava honoree. She is a HuffPost blogger and has been featured in several leading business publications, and serves on the board of The Business Council of Westchester and the UJA.

Kathleen Lewton, Lewton, Seekins & Trester. Kathy is a leader in healthcare public relations and marketing, with a career spanning 23 years in scientific and healthcare organizations (academic medical centers, HMOs and physician associations) and 13 years as a senior executive at agencies including Hill & Knowlton and Porter Novelli, working with pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare provider clients. Prior to agency work she was SVP at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York and University Hospitals of Cleveland. She is a former national president of PRSA and the author of the textbook Public Relations in Health Care: A Guide for Professionals. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the PRSA Health Academy and her work has earned several PRSA Silver Anvils, IABC Gold Quills and the American Hospital Association’s Touchstone Awards.

Christina Rae, Buzz Creators. Christina is founder and president of Buzz Creators, a public relations and marketing firm serving global clients and also helping small businesses increase marketplace presence. She previously held VP communications positions at CIT Group and MasterCard Worldwide, and also has worked at Brodeur Worldwide, Prodigy Incorporated, Pepsi-Cola, and White Plains Hospital Center. She has been named one of Westchester County's Most Accomplished Women Entrepreneurs by Westchester Magazine’s 914INC, was one of The Business Council of Westchester Rising Stars: Westchester's Forty Under Forty in 2010, and a Westchester Spotlight “Westchester’s Rising Business Stars Under 30” in 2001. She is a former VP with PRSA Westchester/Fairfield and is a member of the Professional Women of Westchester, The Business Council of Westchester, The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce and The Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce.

Tara Rosenblum, News 12 Westchester. Tara spent 14 years as an anchor/reporter with News 12 before kicking off the station's first investigative unit in 2017, 'Turn to Tara'. Since joining News 12 in 2004, she has become one of the most award-winning reporters in the state of New York. Her more than 200 industry awards include a 2017 National Edward R Murrow Award, 25 Emmy wins and 105 Emmy nominations, six of them for New York's top general assignment reporter. In 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 she was the most Emmy-nominated TV reporter in the NY market; one of the years bringing home a record-setting 8 wins, including Top Investigative reporter. Her passion is diving into breaking, political and investigative news stories and she has traveled the county, state and the country to tell them, including the Virginia Tech Massacre, the 2008/2012/2016 presidential race and Hurricane Katrina. Tara's coverage of the ravaged Gulf Coast led to sizable donations from across the Hudson Valley and prompted a local village to adopt a church in Algiers. Months later, Westchester County recognized Tara's efforts by naming a day in her honor.
